Ivory grew up in a musical family that predominantly played jazz and the blues. As a child, she traded weekly piano lessons to complete 10 years of classical vocal training to hone her vocal craft.
After a successful foray into the Toronto Hip Hop scene, Ivory returned to her Jazz/Blues roots full time in 2010 following the release of her self-produced album, Satisfy Ambition [currently available on Itunes]. With a husky voice that harkens to an era of speakeasy’s and smoky clubs, Ivory breathes new life into Jazz standards and contemporary Jazz renditions she performs from coast to coast.
Ivory has performed independently and with numerous bands since 2001. She has performed with notable Canadian Jazz greats Gord Sheard, Pat Clemence, J.J Johnson , Colleen Allen, appeared at multiple venues across the G.T.A such as the TD Toronto Jazz Festival, The Beaches Jazz Festival, Mel Lastman Square, The Mod Club, The Opera House, Isabel Bader Theatre and The Drake Hotel, The Rex, Relish Bistro, Trane Studio, The Orbit Room, and The Reservoir Lounge with repeat performances at The Pilot Tavern, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, The Home Smith Bar and The Gladstone Hotel.
Ivory has performed across Canada, in the US, UK, Congo, Cuba, Trinidad and Jamaica.
Her music has hit number 1 on Project Bounce (CIUT), and has seen rotation on Flow 93.5, 88.1, 89.5 and JAZZ FM 91.
